Season three of Shark Tank India has been gaining a lot of attraction from the audiences for the interesting pitches on the show. Being one of the first business-related reality shows on Indian television, fans diligently tune into the show to know more about the up-and-coming brands. In one of the recent episodes of the show, the founders of a Kolkata-based multi-brand cloud kitchen, EatVerse presented their pitch on the show.

As reported by the Hindustan Times, the judges were left shocked when they asked for Rs 1 crore or one percent of the company’s equity. The founders went on to explain that they plan on expanding their business pan-India, however, the founder of Shaadi.com Anupam Mittal stated that the food industry is very vast. Calling their plan suicidal, he explained that their plan would be very difficult to navigate. Quoted by the Hindustan Times, Mittal reminded the founders of EatVerse of Swiggy and Zomato’s existence. He went on to tell them, “I think you can scale your business upto ₹30-40 crore, but beyond that going into a new geography is a huge risk. You have not gone there yet and to go with ₹1 crore, its suicidal. And that's the reason I am out.” This led to the founders not securing any deal. Talking about the show, Shark Tank India is an Indian franchise of the American show of the same name, where known entrepreneurs listen to different business ideas and decide whether or not they want to invest in those ideas. In the current season, the makers introduced six new sharks apart from the ones that were already a part of the business-related reality show.
